Roger Dale Steenbergen

Roger Dale Steenbergen, age 67, of Jefferson City, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 8, 2017, in San Diego, CA.
He was born November 26th, 1950, in Jefferson City, Missouri, a son of Kenneth Steenbergen and Mildred (Scott) Jobe, who preceded him in death.
On March 26, 1971, in Columbia, MO, Roger was united in marriage to Pamela Sue Gordon who preceded him in death. They were happily married for 42 years. Roger was blessed to find love again and was united in marriage to Sandy Lawrence on November 5th, 2016, who survives at the home. Sandy brought love and happiness back into Roger’s life.
He retired as an Engineer from the Missouri Department of Transportation in 2004, after 35 years.
Roger loved spending time with his family, playing golf, watching Mizzou basketball and westerns. He loved the Lord and was an active member of the Concord Baptist Church. He was a strong, kind, encouraging, giving and fun-loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Roger is also survived by his children Connie and her husband Tyler Smith of Leawood, Kansas and Keith Steenbergen of Ozark. Step-children, Ashleigh and her husband, John Kremer, of San Diego, CA, Parker Lawrence and his wife, Carrie, of Jefferson City and Bria Lawrence of Columbia. Five sisters and their spouses, Revae and Larry Volkart of Russellville, Janice and Ivor Steenburgen of Eugene, Robyn and Doug Buschjost of Jefferson City, Karen and Nick Payne of Russellville and Mindy and Dave Overhoff of Russellville. And five grandchildren, Abby, Jake, Lucas, Joshua and Rachel, along with other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4–7 p.m. Friday, December 15th, at Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 16th, at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating.
Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
Memorials may be sent to Concord Baptist Church “For the Future,” 3724 W. Truman Blvd., Jefferson City, MO 65109.
