Otto Sebastian Goldammer, Jr.

Otto Sebastian Goldammer Jr., 83, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Jefferson City Manor Care.

He was born November 20, 1935, on the Goldammer farm in Russellville, to Otto Wolfgang and Josephine Clara (Horak) Goldammer.

He was a 1954 graduate of Russellville High School. Following graduation, he served in the National Guard.

He was united in marriage on July 21, 1963, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville to Shirley Mae Platter who survives at the home.

Jr. worked on the family farm, custom bailed hay in Russellville and surrounding communities, worked for Scruggs-Guhleman Lumber Company, was a mail contractor for the U.S Postal Service, and retired from Cole R-1 Schools after 25 years as a Bus Superintendent and Driver.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville, member of the original Russellville Volunteer Fire Department, and enjoyed showing horses, butchering hogs, and making molasses with family, neighbors, and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Goldammer, Russellville; one daughter, Sharla (Keith) Olson, Russellville; three grandchildren, Cody (Jessica) Goldammer, Justin Goldammer, Emily Goldammer; one great-granddaughter and his greatest joy, Dani Rae Goldammer; and three siblings, Della Ott, Russellville; Ray (Mary) Goldammer, Marengo, Iowa; and Irvin (Dorothy) Goldammer, Jefferson City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Philip Scott Goldammer; one granddaughter, Shelby Don Goldammer; three sisters, Martha Vernon, Regina Verbarg, Viola Kraus; and five brothers, David, Herbert, Alfred, Roy, and Hugo Goldammer.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019, at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville with Pastor Ed Merckel officiating.

Private Family Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Dani Rae Goldammer Education Fund.

Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
