Jean Ellen Garnett, 84, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
She was born June 13, 1932, in Versailles, Missouri, the daughter of the late Malcolm and Della (Williams) Marriott.
She was united in marriage on May 27, 1950, in Centertown, Missouri, to Robert Louis Garnett who preceded her in death on September 14, 1988.
Jean worked for many years as a poultry inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture.
In her spare time, Jean loved to read books especially mysteries and loved her animals.
Survivors include three children, Debbie (Donnie) Scrivner, Jefferson City; David Garnett, Wadesville, IN; Joe Garnett, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Loretta Greaves and friend, Betty Van Blair, both of Boliver, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, Dan Garnett.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville, with Pastor Brian K. Credille officiating.
Burial will be in Centertown Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus, 600 Monroe Street, Suite 100, Jefferson City, MO 65101; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
